Mosaic Florida kings
Mosaic Florida Kings are a reccessive trait that effects pattern. So far two lines have popped up in Bill Brants and Lindsey Pike's collections. The abberent trait has been proven to be a true reccesive trait. We can't wait to get this triat into our other morphs.

Kinda hard to see. The pattern just disapears in a natural environment.

Bill Brant popped out the first mosaics. here is what he has to say: Our first mosaics popped up in 2003. The parents of these were captive hatched in 1997 from clutches of eggs deposited by gravid wild collected females from the cane fields south of Lake Okeechobee. Our founding stock of FL kings is composed of these captive hatched babies layed by wild caught females in order to create a genetically diverse colony. The first year we started mixing these different unrelated snakes (1999), we unexpectedly had anerythrism/axantism pop up. Then in 2003 the mosaics appeared. Knowing we had other individuals in our colony that were siblings to both the original male and female mosaic hets (and therefore possible mosaic hets), we added these to the mix and soon identified additional individuals that were also definite mosaic hets, resulting in their rapid proliferation. We also had the "pinstripe" morph pop up out of this stock, which you may have seen on display at the Daytona expo.

My favorite Water Moccassin pose. These snakes are found near water moccasins so maybe they mimic these venemous reptiles pose.
