ACCORDING TO DR. BERN BECHTEL THE TWO TERMS ANERY AND AXANTHIC CAN BE USED INTERCHANGABLY. HOWEVER FOR HERPETOCULTURE PURPOSES WE ARE NOW DIFFERENTIATING THE ANERY AND AXANTHIC DUE TO TWO DIFFERENT UNCOMPATIPLE RECCESSIVE TRAITS.

. This is a Black morph that is not allelic with the older traits that originated with BHB (Brian Barzyc) Enterprises. However there are some black and white morphs that look similar and are allelic with the more Blue axanthic morph.. Originally all of these Black and White morphs were called axanthics but I decided a name change was in order to differentiate the two allelic morphs. So for simplified reasons the term "anery" or "Anerythristic" is considered a non-allelic trait with the "axanthic".

About 5 years ago there was a breeder in Calif who bred an anery to an axanthic and got normal babies. This meant the two lines were not allelic. This triat was traced back to BHB (Brian Barzyck) Enterprises. However i have some from his line that look similar darkish brown that are allelic with the axanthic.

The Anery is the dark one and originates from BHB Enterprises and the light colored axanthic is a New England line.

This is a pic of a Anery, Lavender albino, snow,Peanut Butter and a normal. All clutchmates. Working with hets are the most rewarding.
